A Visual Journey Through Inspired Art and Literature
with Elizabeth Kelley and Songstress Sabenah

Mary Magdalene

You are invited to a Feast Day Celebration honoring Mary of Magdala.

Art and Literature throughout the centuries have given the world numerous intriguing images of the controversial and enigmatic figure of Mary Magdalene. Was she a whore or a holy woman, a temple priestess or a dedicated wife, a wild independent woman or a protective mother, a contemplative recluse or an active teacher, a keeper of the pagan mysteries or a catholic saint? You decide for yourself. On her Feast Day, we will explore and honor Her in all of Her aspects.

Throughout the centuries priests and clerics devalued Her, but artists, poets and writers intrigued and inspired by Mary championed Her. Come and enjoy the exquisite images that portray scriptures, myths and legends of the alluring Magdalene. We will explore fascinating facts as well as intentional disinformation that has been spread about Her throughout the centuries.

This promises to be a visually and intellectually stimulating evening about the legacy of this powerful and captivating Saint. At this time in history, she is can be seen as a vessel that holds new insights into the Christian Mysteries.
