and occasional Guest Hosts
Join us about twice a month for viewings of movies that inspire us — to grow, to take action, and to connect more deeply with our hearts, with the planet, and with each other.
We'll watch these inspired/inspiring movies, then take time for discussion and sharing our thoughts and feelings about what we just saw, and, perhaps on some occasions, about what actions we might take.
We'll provide popcorn and we request you bring other snacks and/or drinks to share, potluck-style.

Scott says: "This is one of my favorite films of all time. It touches on so many deep aspects of life. I guarantee that you will cry at least once during this movie!"

If you believe the impossible, the incredible can come true.
Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) is a novice farmer who becomes convinced by a mysterious voice that he is supposed to construct a baseball diamond in his corn field. The film's underlying themes are the fulfillment of dreams, and how people can overcome any regrets they may have about the life choices they make.
Kinsella lives in rural Iowa with his wife, Annie (Amy Madigan), and their young daughter Karin (Gaby Hoffmann). Ray's deceased father, John Kinsella (Dwier Brown) loved baseball, the Chicago White Sox, and Shoeless Joe Jackson (Ray Liotta), who was banned from baseball for his part in throwing the 1919 World Series. His father, though, seemed "worn down" by life.
While walking through the cornfield, Ray hears a voice whisper, "If you build it, he will come." He imagines a baseball field in his cornfield. Annie is skeptical but she tells him to follow his vision.
When the stadium is built, it is visited by the ghosts of frustrated ball players. These include the men banished from professional baseball in the 1919 Black Sox cheating scandal and, most importantly, Ray's father. Through the events of the film, Ray works through his regrets and can, at last, grieve for his father.
