with Robert

This week-long training will include two dimensions
of learning and integrating NVC. The first dimension is developing
the internal foundation. The focus of this dimension is to deepen
and integrate the consciousness that is the foundation of NVC.
This entails a focus on needs consciousness as well as developing
a greater awareness of core jackal thinking and beliefs that prevent
living in a more present, authentic way. There will be a deepening
of the living energy or beauty of needs. We will work on processes
that will support participants in transforming core belief structures
that manifest in everyday, moment-to-moment thinking, and limit
authentic living. I am interested in supporting an embodied spirituality
and a way to engage in a living practice in our everyday, moment-to-moment
living. This first dimension will focus on:
- Deepening the foundation and integrating
the consciousness of embodied spirituality implicit in Nonviolent
Communication.
- Directly experience the life-enriching energy
of needs, which is the spiritual basis of NVC.
- Learn processes to more fully integrate the
authenticity of NVC into your own authenticity.
- Move beyond the pain of unmet needs to live
more consistently in the beauty of needs.
- Identify and transform core jackal thinking
to a life of being more fully present.
The second dimension, based on building the
inner foundation, is living the process in relationship. In order
to more fully and authentically live the NVC process in dialogue,
it requires a strong inner foundation from which to communicate
and be in relationship. The dynamics of autonomy and interdependence
best identify the aspects that are at play in any interaction.
The second part of the retreat will focus on:
- Taking fully into account our individual
choice (for our needs) and the other's needs with an interdependent
consciousness.
- Relating from the beauty of needs, needs
as a fullness, rather than as deficiency.
- Truly meeting someone in place of mutuality,
equally valuing each other's needs.
- Developing the skills and literacy to meet
in that place of mutual care.
The first three and a half days will focus on
the first dimension. The second three and a half days will focus
on the second. The fourth day will include a half day with no
work sessions scheduled to allow for integration.
The structure of the training will involve
an introductory talk by Robert, followed by demonstration of the
principles being presented and practice in small groups or dyads.
