Sacred Sexuality for Healing Sexual Trauma
A Safe, Fun, Confidential, Clothing-on Journey Using Tantra and Cross-Cultural Sacred Relationship Healing Techniques

An AASECT Continued Education Workshop

with Stephen Braveman and Francesca Gentillé

You may want to take this workshop if you are a woman or a man who can answer yes to at least four of the following.

You...
• Notice that relationships are frightening;
• Cannot quiet your mind during sex;
• Remember a time(s) in your life when you were made to receive or give intercourse or other sexual acts or erotic touch, or witnessed sexual acts that were not right for you (especially, though not limited to, if you were under the age of 18);
• Notice that you seem lifeless or numb below the waist;
• Often jump into sex, even when you know it isn't a good idea;
• Are aware that your heart, body, mind and/or spirit carry sexual trauma.

Healing from sexual trauma or sexual abuse can take many shapes and some of the most powerful tools for recovery are grounded in sacred intimacy practices from around the world.

This workshop is a safe, very confidential weekend in which you and a partner will learn Tantra (Eastern sacred sexuality) basics, such as partnered breath and eye-gazing exercises, in conjunction with Western sexological and psychotherapy methods, such as ways to avoid turning a sexual speed-bump into a road block, and also sensate focus methods.

Blending both perspectives will help you to celebrate a much safer, happier and healthier intimate, sexual life together. It may be taken with a partner, friend, lover or anyone with whom you feel safe. Singles may participate as well. See "Singles" below.

In this workshop you will:
• Learn a simple breathing technique to heal an quiet the mind;
• Recover a sense of safety and trust in sexuality;
• Discover your sacred limits, boundaries, wants and needs;
• Learn how to express your sexual/relationship preferences with ease and grace
• Uncover ancient, sacred healing techniques from around the world;
• Have fun and experience a sense of belonging

Participants will practice the techniques learned while remaining fully clothed. No direct genital touch will occur during the workshop.

Both days are dedicated to learning various techniques, while taking into account the special needs and circumstances those who have experienced sexual trauma or abuse and their partners face — with special attention to emotional concerns and how to support healing and well-being.

Clinicians and Other Helping Professionals: You will gain knowledge and skills you can use right away to help you in your support of sexual trauma/abuse clients and their partners. The workshop meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. It is Approved for 14 AASECT CE Credits. www.aasect.org.

Singles: If you are willing to be matched with another single wanting to experience this ground-breaking workshop, we are willing to assist you. Each person will be interviewed by Sunrise Center staff and/or one of the facilitators. You may partner with someone of the same or different gender.
